First Draft done!

The heading says it all. But let me open my thoughts a little bit more: I managed to finish my second book's first draft which is still in need of editing and rewriting and all kinds of other things. But as I mentioned in my TikTok post: "now I'll focus on enjoying my small success".

In my previous post, I wrote about my life. Now I realise how much I have actually grown from that moment. And I'm happy about it. I think that through this book as well I have learned many things about myself and my interests.

I think it is too soon to reveal anything major, but like mentioned, the next book is about mental health and how it also affects those who know someone suffering from it. My story is not about myself, but it is still personal on a level that it includes many of my actual thoughts. Especially towards the end, readers get to experience not just my own thoughts but also what it is like to be insecure about certain things. Let's face it, everyone has some kind of insecurity no matter how fine they are in their life.

This book has also guided me towards my future career in the social and societal field. Because throughout high school, I have spent many hundred hours thinking, rethinking and overthinking what I want to go to study. Even if I graduate during this year and apply to an university, I'm still not sure what I want to become.

One can pinpoint some characteristics of my personality from the "Dark side of the Moon", but only if they know me. Because not everything is related to my own life or even the life of people close to me. Many things come to my head when I listen to music, so that is one source of influence. Then there are countless of other things like movies, books, art and dance.

I think that it is so great that I got to finish this draft before graduating. Even if it is way shorter than my first book "Eindselit" but that doesn't really matter because quality is what counts. I wish to inspire other authors and teens as well to write more their storied down. You don't necessarily have to publish everything you think or anything of your text if you don't feel like it, but writing can really help you figure out your own thoughts in stressful or strange situations.

How is your writing going? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
